Britland G. Stefani, LAPC, NCC
Making the decision to enter counseling can be incredibly difficult for some, and I recognize the courage it takes to seek out help. As individuals, we are all unique in our perceptions of the world, our life experiences, and the problems or issues we may encounter. I honor and value diversity and use this value to provide a safe and inclusive, non-judgmental atmosphere for working through the many challenges of life.
I earned my Masters of Education Degree with a focus on Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Augusta University in 2017. This degree program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) which ensures the quality of education and training to professionally approved standards of excellence. While earning my Masters Degree, I was inducted into the Gamma Rho Omega Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International and have remained a professional member post-graduation. I am also an associate member of the American Counseling Association and Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia.
Throughout my training, I gained experience working with children and adolescents incorporating various aspects of play and art therapy. I have worked with children and adolescents in the foster care system for issues related to trauma, grief, and associated social and behavioral problems. Additionally, I gained experience working with adults with various degrees of mental illnesses and presenting problems in the private practice setting when I joined Resolution Counseling Professionals as an Intern in 2017.
I have applied for Licensure as an Associate Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia and I am working towards completing the three year required residency to gain full licensure. I receive supervision by our Senior Therapist, Carolyn Ramp, who is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of Georgia with over 40 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families.
I am a Certified Facilitator of Prepare-Enrich, which is a program used for premarital, couples, and marriage therapy to help couples build, strengthen, or restore their relationship. Additionally, I am currently a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals.
I find it an honor to share in the journey of healing and growth and I am passionate about what I do. I am committed to providing a supportive, empathetic, trustworthy and honest relationship with my clients while working collaboratively to help them accomplish goals and achieve emotional health.
"When we're looking for compassion, we need someone who is deeply rooted, is able to bend and, most of all embraces us for our strengths and struggles."
