Jennifer L. Alvarez, LMFT
As the Clinical Director for Resolution Counseling, I serve as a consultant to all therapists at RCP. I also directly supervise the Licensed Associate Counselors. My role involves overseeing the administrative tasks of counseling and filling in for our senior therapist when needed.
Throughout my experience, I have worked with individuals and families with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and co-occurring disorders. I also work with couples to heal their relationships.
My Masters Degree in Marital and Family Therapy was earned at Alliant International University in 2010 and I earned a Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Studies from Saddleback College in 2008. My experience started while working as a counselor in a residential alcohol and drug treatment center in California where I provided individual and group treatment.
Following the work in addiction, I moved into serving welfare clients through the CAL Works Program offering individual, group, and family therapy.
In addition, I have become experienced in working with non-traditional relationships and have become passionate about assisting these individuals as they struggle with their issues. If you are involved in a non-traditional relationship and would like more information, just give me a call and we can talk about it.
I am a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), the Georgia Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (GAMFT), and the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP) through which I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and Anger Management Treatment Professional (AMTP).
"I used to think that the worst thing in life was to end up alone. It's not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel alone."
