Mary E. Battle, LPC
I am passionate about helping people. I love getting the privilege of walking along side those I serve and helping them find their own voice. Whether it's to work on personal goals, concerns about life, family troubles, or building a better relationship with your spouse or children - it's a joy to be able to provide a listening ear and share a message of hope. Growing up overseas helps me to be able to relate to a variety of people from different backgrounds and gives me a unique perspective.
One of my real pleasures is working with teenagers. Teens face a variety of difficulties such as peer pressure, anxiety, depression, self-harm, self-hatred, suicidal thoughts and negative messages. They feel alone and are trying to figure out just who they are.
I offer a group for teenage girls called Fight Club for Girls. Our motto is "Fighting to Win in Life." This group is for teen girls struggling to be heard and understood by their peers. I help teen girls learn a variety of coping skills, social skills, and ways to manage their emotions, their thoughts, and their behaviors in healthy ways. The group meets every other Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. If you'd like more information, check out the page on the group or call me at 706-432-6866.
I was trained at Columbia International University in Columbia, SC with a Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling and a Post Graduate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a Certified Prepare-Enrich Facilitator, which is used for marriage counseling, marriage enrichment, engaged couples, and dating couples. I am also a Strength Finders Coach, which is an assessment for helping individuals understand their unique gifts and abilities.
